Aren’t we forgetting the true meaning of Christmas? You know… the birth of Santa.

33 days.

We have 33 days until Christmas. Thats just cray-cray!

When I was making lists and coming up with great ideas back in August, I thought I had ALL the time in the world! I thought, I SO got this! And now here I am 33 days before Christmas.

I don’t got this! 😆

HBear used to be my easiest person to shop for, and then she became a teenager and everything changed. I got a list consisting of stores she wants gift cards from and every form of ripped, safety pinned, and black accessory known to man. Oh and candles! So many candles!!

It has been super difficult this year to think outside the box and get her things that will surprise her and make her happy. Below I have compiled a list of 10 items that we are either getting her this year or have gotten her in the past. Hopefully these ideas help you or spark your imagination on your quest to find your teen the “perfect” gift.

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone that has used my Affiliated Amazon bar at the top of this page! By doing that I am able to collect a small commission for referring you to the site! Thanks again for your support, comments and feedback, I TRULLY appreciate it 💛.

What does every teenager need? A Portable Cell Phone External Battery Pack of course! We are getting this for HBear for all those times I hear a panicked scream of “OMG only 2% left!”

When I was a teenager my entire room was filled with candles and patchouli incense 😂. My parents really allowed us to do whatever we wanted in our bedrooms. They were very trusting. I am not 😆. Now that I own my own home there is NO WAY in hell I’m letting HBear burn candles in her bedroom!!!! However, that’s exactly what she wants to do! So we found these, Flickering Electric LED Flame Candle Light with Remote Control, Set of 9! Ninja and I have a set for podcasting by candlelight lol, we love them and we hope she does too!

This could be a gift for your teenager, your partner or parent! It is pretty cool! HBear was given a glasses holder from a friend a few years back and loves it! I thought this Wooden Eyeglass Spectacle Holder would be a better place for her glasses than under the piles of clothes on her bedroom floor 😜.

It was right around HBear’s age when I realized PJ’s could be pretty and not just something to wipe my nose on in bed 😆. Last year we got HBear a pretty Cherry Blossoms Floral Kimono Robe to wear after a nice bath. A small thing that feels so good!

Another gift we got HBear last year was this Sherpa Fleece Weighted Blanket, 12 lbs. She said it has been a game changer! She even takes it with her when she sleeps out!

Just like the journal we are getting SBean, we are getting One Question a Day: A Five-Year Journal for HBear to enjoy. HBear really likes to write but is VERY structured. Lists are good… journalling, bad 😆. This will be PERFECT for her!

HBear, like most teens, is all about Baby Yoda. Instead of a stuffy this CHIA PET Star Wars The Child in MANDOS Satchel is a more grown up way to show your love for that Cutie, Grogu!

HBear got her nails done for Grade 8 grad and now wants her nails done all the time! Don’t we all!! I told she had to pay for it and she started getting very good at doing her own! My Sis got her this 5PCS Nail Art Brushes Dotting Pen Tools set and some nail polish so she can up her home salon game!

Another of the BEST gifts we ever got HBear was this 3-Tier Metal Rolling Utility Cart! She uses it as her nightstand but because it is on wheels she moves it around her room depending on how she is using it or what room she needs. It is SO much better than one that just sits beside your bed!

Last year was a lot of gifts to help HBear make the transition from tween to teen. We got her a monthly makeup subscription from Ipsy and over the year she collected a ton of tools and products. This Makeup Organizer 3 Pieces Set, 8 Drawers is perfect to keep all of her things visible and tidy!

I love rice but the Kids aren’t big fans, I am always looking for ways to make it more appealing for them and I finally did it with this recipe! This is a really fast, really tasty and really cheap dinner! It’s perfect for a weekday dinner, makes great leftovers and is Kid approved!

Sausage and Rice Skillet
Adapted from Life Made Simple

1 cup rice

2 cups stock

1 tablespoon margarine
2 teaspoon oil
1 ring smoked sausage, cut into 1 inch pieces
1 bell pepper, sliced
1 white onion, sliced
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup tomato paste
1 1/4 cup chicken broth, divided
1 teaspoon paprika
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 tablespoons parsley, chopped

In a small saucepan, combine rice, margarine, broth of your choice and salt to taste.

Turn heat to high. When the rice comes to a boil, turn down to low, cover, and cook for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, take off heat, keep covered and let sit for 15 minutes while you prepare the sausage.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high. Add sausage and cook until browned on both sides, about 5 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Add the peppers and onion, sauté for 4-5 minutes. Add the garlic, salt, and pepper about 1 minute. Remove from the pan and set aside with the sausage.

Add the tomato paste and 3/4 cup of chicken broth, whisk to combine. Allow the mixture to simmer for 1 minute, then add the paprika and cayenne.

Stir in the cooked rice, sausage, remaining chicken broth, pepper and onions until combined. Garnish with chopped parsley, serve immediately

HBear worked super hard on her school project this week, It is so good! It was wonderful to see her express how SHE sees my disease, if not a little but heartbreaking at the same time. All the deer have come down from the mountains and the streets are full of wildlife these days. I went out for coffee with my MMBesty and we took some Get Better Soon doughnuts to my Sis and the Kids who were down with this nasty flu all week. While we were in Kelowna, we stopped at the mall and a few stores to do some birthday/Christmas shopping and of course stop for a beer to congratulate ourselves on getting through it! 😆 This weekend the holiday events began in full force! Ninja and HBear met Grandma and Grandpa at The Lakeside Resort for the Christmas Craft Market and then to Gyro Park for the Light Up! SBean and I stayed home as the flu hit her HARD. The week ended with everyone feeling a lot better and Ninja kicking the grocery store’s butt by spending $84.86 on 19 items this week!
