Mother’s Day Gift Guide, Homemade Caramel Frappuccino, No Bake Cherry Cheesecake & Easy Sticky Buns

Insanity is hereditary; you get it from your children. - Sam Levenson

Mother’s Day is right around the corner and I am sharing my MUST HAVE items! I am not a huge makeup gal but I do like quality body and face products. Today I am sharing my Amazon links for My Top 10 Bathroom Essentials!

When SBean proudly presented me with fat sculpting body lotion, lol I was dismayed! Until I tried it! This Clarins Firming Body Lotion is tingly body cream that helps your skin stay feeling silky and soft while firming up any cellulite that might be hanging on to your beautiful body. This lotion is worth every penny!

Years ago, my cousin told me that she used a Diva Cup. I was so grossed out! Years later, I finally tried it and I’m embarrassed at how silly I was. The Diva Cup is the best invention since sliced bread! You empty it twice a day. I promise it’s basically only a tablespoon or two of blood each time. No more spending money on menstruation products, no more worrying about toxic shock syndrome, and no more having to go to the bathroom to change your pad/tampon. Best. Purchase. Ever.

I have trouble with mascara, it has taken me years to find one that stays on, doesn’t bother my eyes, and actually makes my eyelashes look good. When J bought me this Mascara for my birthday, I fell instantly in love! It does everything I want out of a mascara and more! It looks like I’m wearing false eyelashes when I brush this mascara onto my stubby little eyelashes. By far the best mascara I have ever used.

When I was a kid, I did not leave the house without concealer, foundation, and powder! My things have changed lol nowadays, I buy this amazing Pur Pressed Foundation that does the job of all three! The best part about it, you can’t tell I’m wearing it! Also, my skin has never looked better since I started using it!

This past month, the dentist has told me, very explicitly lol, to get an electric toothbrush. I have always been wary of electric toothbrushes because I read about the damage they were doing from people pressing too hard. Not anymore! This Oral-B Toothbrush lets you know by flashing a red light if you are pressing too hard, has 30 second increments to let you know how long you need to brush for, and stays charged all week! My dentist is so proud of me! Thanks for the awesome birthday present Dad!

The dentist also suggested a water pick to use as floss. I have a hard time holding onto dental floss with my stupid MS hands. This Water Flosser makes me feel like my mouth has never been cleaner! It’s shocking how good my mouth feels before I go to bed lol It even comes in pink! Of course there are other colors, but it even comes in pink! Lol

My Mother and Father-in-law bought this Curling Iron for me for Christmas a few years ago and it is the best curling iron I have ever used! It comes in multiple barrel sizes, heats up fast, the cord moves with you so it doesn’t get tangled, has a holder at the end of the curling iron so you don’t burn your fingers, is a long barrel for anybody with long hair, and makes the most beautiful curls that last all day!

I’ve shared my Norwex make up cloths with you before, but every person in my household also has a Norwex Body Cloth! We each have our own colour and they are what I credit my clear complexion to. I have one that I keep in the shower for my body and one that I keep for my face after I have used my make up cloth. my face always feels fresh and clean.

For years, I used Clinique face care. So expensive! So I began looking for an alternative that would moisturize my face, be light, non-greasy, preferably has a day cream and a night moisturizer and there has to be UV protection in the day cream. No problem, right? Lol CeraVe Night Moisturizer has everything I’m looking for and is under $20 a bottle! I am trying to explain to my children that they will never have an easier face care regime as the one I am giving them… Norwex make up cloth, Norwex body cloth, CeraVe moisturizer and done!

I was going to share a four course Mother’s Day dinner with you today, but then Ninja and I started talking and he said, “no offense but nobody is going to do that. Most husbands and their children are not going to make their wife/mom a 4 course dinner on Mother’s Day. It’s true, not all husbands are like mine lol and by that I mean, fantastic cooks in the kitchen! So, I tried thinking of a few of my favourite treats that are easy enough for Kids (or Daddys lol) to make on their own this Mother’s Day! Click on the title of the recipe to jump directly to the recipe card!

I love caramel frappuccinos! Well, actually, I like mocha frappuccinos and caramel macchiatos from Starbucks, but I hate spending 5 to 7 dollars on a coffee drink! This Homemade Caramel Frappuccino is incredibly easy to whip up, perfect for a beautiful sunny day and I bet you have everything in your cupboard to make Mom this fantastic homemade coffee drink this Mother’s Day! You can even use cold coffee instead of espresso if that’s all you have on hand!

One of my absolute favourite things in the entire entire world is my Mom’s No Bake Cherry Cheesecake. I have shared this recipe before in the form of individual tarts but Ninja made this for me for my birthday last week so I HAD to share! I didn’t get Ninja to take pictures or video lol but I still want to share it because this is the easiest dessert to make AND it is incredibly delicious!

Another thing that I adore is sticky buns! What I don’t adore is, making them lol it takes so long and they’re so much effort! This is an incredibly Easy Sticky Buns recipe that you can whip up for your Mom for breakfast or for the next time she pops by for coffee! This would be a perfect recipe for Kids who want to surprise their Mom with breakfast in bed, wink wink Dads! Lol

      Baking Time

      22-25

      minutes

      Ingredients

      • 1 tube Pillsbury biscuits, 10-12 biscuits

      • 1/4 cup butter, melted

      • ½ cup maple syrup

      • ⅓ cup brown sugar, packed

      • 2 teaspoon cinnamon

      • ½ cup raisins

      Directions

      • Preheat oven to 375F, with rack on lower-middle position. Generously grease a bundt pan. Whisk together the melted butter and maple syrup in a bowl. Set aside. In another bowl, combine brown sugar, cinnamon, and nuts until incorporated.

      • Pour half of the syrup mixture into bottom of greased bundt pan. Sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture on top. Gently lay one biscuit at a time into the pan, overlapping them like tilted dominoes. Use enough biscuits to form a ring of overlapping biscuits (I used 10 biscuits). Brush top with rest of the butter/syrup and sprinkle with brown sugar mixture.

      • Bake for 22-25 minutes, or just until buns are evenly fluffy and browned (if the top browns before biscuits are cooked through, cover loosely with greased foil.) Cool a few minutes in pan. Set plate on top of buns and invert carefully. Serve warm.

What a crazy week! I continued to recuperate from my infusion and finally started feeling more like myself! I went to the Rotary Book Sale at the curling club (then had to reorganize me book shelves lol), the library, out for coffee with my MMBesty, and hung out with Oliver! This weekend we went to Nelson, British Columbia for SBean’s gymnastics competition! She didn’t do very well. She was crushed. However, she added a new skill to her floor routine, successfully did a tuck on during her bars routine, and had a great time with her teammates! I have so much to tell you about Nelson, it is a gorgeous town with a ton to do! Next week I will post a detailed account of the fun things that we did on our weekend getaway! Oh and don’t worry, Oliver lived his best life while we were away with Papa LOL.
