So while Ninja was gone visiting in Edmonton I went… shopping! I am obsessed with bargain shopping LOL. If there is a sale, I am there. I went to the Bay and bought my niece… well I can’t say because my sister reads this lol but let me just say it was regular $70 and I got it for $12!!!! Hell Yeah!
I also bought tons of stuff at The Children’s Place. The lady said that will be $131 and I just looked at her. She then said Ooops after sales and your email discount that will be $32. Did I just do that? YES I DID!
I even went to the Gap and got HBear shirts for next year at the low cost of 3 shirts for $19.
So, The Payless in town was going out of business (the rumor is a bulk barn is coming in!!!!!) so I went and bought 7 pairs of shoes and 2 accessories! Of course they are all for the girls lol but HBear is a size 10 right now and we went all the way to 11.5! LOL
Dad and I took the girls to the Brick too. Yeah, I bought a Serta Trump King size mattress… and boxspring… and matress protector… and the rails.
I am pretty sure Ninja has decided NEVER to go away again lol
It came in last week and Ninja, my FIL and Dad went and picked it up… I have a Brick card but apparently you need to use it every year to keep it working! I refused to get another one because every time they do a credit check on you your credit points take a hit. Did you know that? It’s true. Just for doing a credit check on you, hurts your credit?!?! So stupid. Anyways, you only get free delivery if you use your card, see where I’m going with this? LOL
So after they picked it up, they set it up. Of course I don’t have King size sheets or a cover so I had to dig out Mom and Dad’s old set J
Of course I didn’t like that set so I bought a new 1! LOL So it was Sears Days and I went to Kelowna to check it out. SBean is a shopping FREAK! She likes to run around. I particularly despise children who run around stores. It kills me. I cannot let her be one of THOSE kids. J So after a bit of screaming and all the nonsense of an apparently spoiled 16 month old… she was over my shoulder and in the van, and I was out a bed set lol.
Boy do I love internet shopping!
So I went online to Sears, found a set we both like and purchased it J Regular $170, with Sears Days, my free shipping code, my $10 off code for being a 1sttimer and my $50 GC from my BIL… The total was (drumroll) $89!!! I rock J right Ninja? LOL
HBear calls it the big Cozy bed! LOL It is pretty awesome. Ninja and I went to Chicago a few (I guess more than a few now lol) years ago and we stayed at the Sofitel. At the Sofitel they have what they call Dream Beds. YES THEY ARE! I have looked everywhere for that feeling of the Dream Bed…. Ahhhhh just saying it is dreamy lol.
When Ninja got into the whole new bed he said “Ahhhh Sofitel.” LOL It is official it is the best bed EVER!
When he got back, Ninja and I even took advantage of HBear’s sleepover at Grandma and Grandpa’s (they watched Frozen with Auntie Carrie J) and went out for dinner! I bought him a Groupon for Xmas at the best restaurant in town Bogners. YUMMMMMMMMMM.
OMG I just realized I even discount eat LOL, my Granny would be proud J
We started with a Caesar salad and an amuse bouche hee hee. It was a beef tenderloin wonton with some sort of delicious sauce J Sorry about the pictures I was trying to be inconspicuous lol
For our entre we had Chateaubriand with Béarnaise sauce, a potato croquette, beets and cauliflower. Holy Hell was it amazing! Melt in your mouth deliciousness!
By the time we had dessert I was feeling the wine and I forgot to get a picture of our sweets LI had a Vanilla Crème Brule and Ninja had Chocolate Mousse. We were also given a homemade chocolate truffle. OMG best dinner EVER!
Ninja’s Mom came over while they were gone and we had a nice dinner together J I made easy peasy baked chicken and smashed taters. Very tasty and very easy!
Honey Dijon Baked Chicken
Adapted from Inspired Dreamer
3 chicken breasts
1/3 cup Dijon mustard
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
Salt & pepper
Rosemary
Preheat oven to 425.
In a small bowl, mix together mustard, honey, and vinegar.
Place chicken breasts into a greased baking dish. Season with salt & lots of pepper.
Pour mustard mixture over chicken. Make sure each breast is coated.
Bake for about 30-40 minutes.
Sprinkle with chopped rosemary.
Smashed Baby Potatoes
12-15 baby baker potatoes
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, pressed
Parsley, chopped
salt and pepper, to taste
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
In a large pot of boiling water, cook potatoes until tender, about 15-20 minutes; drain well.
Place potatoes onto greased baking sheet.
Using a potato masher, carefully smash the potatoes until flattened but still in one piece.
Top with olive oil, garlic and parsley.
Place into oven and bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
Apparently I have been told that sometimes I am too organized LOL Personally I don’t think anyone can be TOO organized. On days like this you just have to be. I had to go out and get my BIL’s birthday gift, finish my niece’s Easter gift, my other niece’s sympathy gift, lego for donation for my nephew, a housewarming gift for my sister, road trip snacks,

“Prizes” and road trip gifts for the girls,
a sympathy card, fill up the gas tank AND get my Besty’s kids gifts out in the mail along with their anniversary gift (ok that one is a bit late lol)
It was a hectic morning!
Plus HBear is missing her friend’s birthday on Saturday, so we needed to get his gifts wrapped and card signed to go drop it off today.
Jeeze I feel like a thinner Santa!
So, anyways I have to get packed too. I know we are only gone 4 days but dress clothing takes extra work. PLUS my sister is watching the girls… plus her own and I want to make it as easy as possible on them J So this is what I did…
I bagged each girl’s outfits for each day, including underwear and in some cases shoes J I even have 4 dress up outfits for each girls because my awesome BIL wants to do a little photoshoot while he has all 3 of them together!
Call it what you will but I guarantee this will make everything soooo much easier.
And I am into easier J
I also had to let HBear’s Sparks leader, soccer coach, dance teacher and teacher know she will be missing from Thursday until Sunday AND get the house in order. I won’t be here on Bathroom Friday so I am now on Bathroom Tuesday duty lol, a vacuum leaves the floors ready to be steamed tomorrow and then a quick dinner! Bacon fettuccini with vodka cream sauce Yummy!
So now tomorrow I just have to make a new ipod playlist, apparently Ninja doesn’t want to listen to Les Mis, Face to Face, Katy Perry or Mumford & Sons, while driving J, put all the movies we want on to the computer (I downloaded HBear the new Fairy Pirate movie, Best Mommy Ever!
Feeling a bit tired so I think a little Oilers will help put me right to sleep lol
