Throw Back Thursday 2/2/13 & Creamy Sausage Tortellini

Now I know some of you may not trust your gut…yet. But with my help you will. The “truthiness” is, anyone can read the news to you. I promise to feel the news…at you.

Stephen Colbert

A while ago I was looking back at some of my earliest posts and thought “hey I wish people had read this one!” You see, at the beginning I didn’t tell anyone. I kept my posts to myself and after a few I finally told my Mom and my Sis.
I then thought, “I should post some for Throw Back Thursday. You know, the good ones at least :)”
So, in honor of Stephen Colbert’s successful (IMHO) transition to the Late Show this week, I give you…

My Truthiness:

1. I use punctuation in excess. My grammar sucks, I make up words and I usually write in stream of consciousness, meaning tons of run-ons.
2. Pinterest is my inspiration. That doesn’t mean that I don’t have my own thoughts. It just means I get the majority of my ideas from Pinterest. I usually change it up to suit my own personal tastes but I promise to always try to credit the original thought
3. I am not a professional chef by ANY means. This means I have flops and failures. I love to cook, not so much of the baking though.
4. I own a Samsung Smart Camera. That’s right, I don’t know anything about ISO’s or shutter speeds  My pictures are as how I see them… unfortunately sometimes my food doesn’t look as appetizing as it actually is, to be honest sometimes my amazing risottos look like I took a picture of dog food. I apologize now.
5. See those cute icons in the top right hand of this page? I have no idea how they got there or what they do. I don’t even know how to get rid of them. Maybe someone can tell me or at some point I will figure it out.
6. I don’t believe in censorship. I sometimes rant, I sometimes have a bad day, I sometimes talk about crass things. EXAMPLE: A while back I was brushing my teeth before bed and I glopped a giant toothpaste glop on myself. I quickly stripped off my shirt. As I sat and counted out my 2 minutes of brushing I leaned over a bit. I ACTUALLY looked like I had udders! I sat on the toilet just looking at my boobs. They used to be so perky. I used to love my boobs. Now they are just milkbags that actually droop. When I lean over they look like water balloons that have sadly sprung a leak. If this offended you… STOP READING and move on. I do appreciate comments, feedback and even debates but I am warning you now and I will not apologize for writing my thoughts, feelings and opinions. This is the forum that I chose to do just that.
7. I like capitals. I am not shouting I just think the words that are capped are important… or something lol
8. In my first year of University my WpgBesty coined me Craft Master Kristin. This does not mean I have ANY artistic talent. I do not. I have wonderful ideas, highest of hopes, and in my mind my projects always turn out better than in reality. This does not stop me from crafting though. I love crafts.
9. I do not proclaim to be a follower of David Suzuki or a”child of the Earth”. I try to do my part but I drive more than I ride my bike, I use hot water to wash my whites, I don’t garden or compost and I shop at Costco AND Walmart. I do, however, try to teach my girls about the planet and the little things that we can do to make it a better place. Like reusing items, recycling, using cloth napkins rather than paper, using all scraps for crafts and turning the water off when we brush our teeth. I believe small things count.
10. As of right now I don’t tweet, twitter, twoot or any of that. In fact, I don’t even have a cell phone. I know this will change at some point… I don’t want to fall behind too much in the world of technology.   *This HAS indeed changed. I have Instagram (follow me at KMaeMaier and I have Twitter (*Groan* follow me @kmaemaier)
11. I have one more to add. I LOVE comments! Please comment on posts, either right on the blog (scroll down) or through Facebook, let’s keep the conversation going 🙂 Also, if you like what you read… subscribe! Then you will never miss a great post or an amazing recipe. If you REALLY like what you read, share it! Thanks for helping me grow my blog and your continued support 🙂
