Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Stryrofoam cup: The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that. – Robert Fulghum

Last night before bed I got a Facebook message from a friend saying, “Wow what are you going to do with a whole day to yourself… well with SBean of course, but are you going to find something to fill your time?”
Ummmm let me think about that…
7:30 – Wakey Wakey! After the 1st night of BOTH girls in their shared bedroom, I am feeling well rested. SBean only cried a few times throughout the night J
7:35 – Get HBear and SBean dressed, help HBear with her morning routine, change SBean again, go pee, then make HBear’s lunch… Caesar salad, banana, rice cake, zucchini brownie, yogurt and juice! I added a special note too!

I would love to say I wrote it but I did not L But the woman that did from The Willcutt Girls summed up EXACTLY what I was feeling! Thank you!

8:00 – Start making my dough for hamburger buns for dinner tonight.
Hamburger Buns
1 cup lukewarm water
1 packet of yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons margarine, melted
1 egg
3 ¼ cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
Add yeast and sugar to water and let sit until bubbly on top. Maybe 5 minutes.
Put flour, margarine, egg and salt in standup mixer.

Add yeast mixture.
Knead until nice and elasticky, 5 minutes.
Cover and let rise for 1-2 hour

8:25 – Place HBear’s Kissing Hand sticker in the plam of her hand 🙂 If you don’t know what this is… check it out, it is a heart melter! We got it for HBear and we all read it last night.

8:30 – Picture time!!! We got our gear together and took it outside for 1stday of school pictures! Strap both girls in and… We are off! Listening to Imagination Movers J

9:00 – Unstrap both girls and walk HBear to her door. Tear up. Hug SBean and sigh a big sigh of relief that I still have 4 years with her. Get SBean strapped back into her seat.

9:05 – Unstrap the Bean and drop off my prescription at Shoppers. Then we run into The $ Store to pickup freezer bags. Strap SBean into her carseat and… We are off!
9:30 – Meet my friend and her 2 little ones at The Bench for coffee. RELAX (as much as you can with a busy 2 year old, a 3 month old and SBean who was missing her nap!!!)

10:30 – Strap SBean into her seat and say goodbye. We then stop by the Library where Ninja is working today. Say hello!
10:35 – Unstrap SBean and change her and lay her down for her much needed nap. Cut my dough into 10 buns and leave them to rise for another half hour.
Hamburger Buns Continued…
Punch down dough and divide in half. Cut each half into 5 pieces. Roll into balls and place on a greased baking pan. Flatten with heel of your hand. Cover and let rise again for 30 minutes.

10:50 – cleaned out the fridge freezer AND 1 deepfreeze!! Emptied all the garbages in the house.
12:00 – Emptied the dehydrator and changed up the grapes that were still soft. Do a ton of dishes. All the Tupperware in the freezers that has gone bad needs to be cleaned *sigh*. Finish buns.
Hamburger Buns Continued…
Brush 1 egg yolk mixed with a bit of water, onto each bun. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and place in a preheated oven at 375. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
12:30 – Brought in a few bowls of plums. Got them ready for cleaning. Took down the clothes from the line and had some lunch. Portioned yesterdays zucchini. We got 12 cups of grated zucchini plus I still have some for dinners this week!!!! SBean is STILL sleeping. Ninja came home to do blinds so I can leave her sleeping! This is now the HIGHLIGHT of my day! LOL, it’s the small things!
1:30 – Hop into the van and drive to go get HBear.
1:35 – Talk to other moms about how they are handling this new separation. Meet a nice lady that even tells me her name! Ever notice how for months you can call a woman “Jane’s Mom”? Like we have lost our entire identity? Funny.
1:50 – HBear comes running out to tell me about her day. It isn’t a full day quite yet but it was a longer than she is used to. Strap HBear into her seat and we’re off!
1:55 – Unstrap HBear and go unpack lunch kits and bags.
2:00 – SBean is up and she is hungry! I change her, Boobie feed her and then she goes into her highchair for some plums… and then cheese… and then a banana… leftover chicken from last night and then 2 crackers!

2:25- HBear and I clean, halve, pit and bag 28 lbs of plums.

3:50  Sweep up the mess that SBean has made and change her PLUM BUM J
3:55 – Start prepping dinner.
Barbecue Beer Burgers with Caramelized Beer Onions
1 large yellow onion
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1 ½ pounds ground beef
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoons paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons Montreal steak seasoning
1 bottle honey brown beer, divided
Barbecue Sauce
5 hamburger buns
5 slices of cheddar cheese
Mayo, lettuce, tomato, dill pickle
Combine beef, garlic, paprika, cumin, steak seasoning, Worcestershire sauce and ¼ cup of beer in a large mixing bowl.  Mix to combine. Portion beef mixture and form into patties slightly larger than your bun.  Make a slight indentation in the center of the burger on one side to prevent it from doming up in the center. Set aside.

Heat a skillet over medium high heat then slice onion.  Add butter and onion to skillet.  Sprinkle with sugar.  Stir to combine.  Stir occasionally until onions start to brown, about 6 minutes.
Pour remaining beer (if you have had a few swigs, Good for you!!! You really only need about  ½ cup) into skillet with onions.  Stir to combine, cover and cook for 15 minutes, or until beer evaporates.
Turn on the BBQ
Brush burgers with olive oil and lightly sprinkle them with salt.
Grill burgers brushing them liberally with your BBQ sauce then cook until cooked right through.
Assemble burger.  Spread mayo on each bottom bun.  Add lettuce, tomato, pickle, burger, cheese, and caramelized onion.

5:45 Eat dinner

6:15 Sweep the mess that BOTH girls have made under the table and start dinner cleanup.
6:30 Pick out school clothes for tomorrow.
6:35 HBear receives a phone call from my sister asking about her first day of school. They Facetime for a while J
7:00 HBear receives a phone call from my brother and girlfriend asking about her first day of school. They talk for a while J
7:15 I talk for a while!
7:30 Bath time! Get both girls bathed, creamed, jammied, earring cleaned and vitamin d’ed.
8:00 Bed time! Ninja reads the girls a book while I feed SBean then it is tucked in, kissed and lights off. SBean went down within 15 minutes tonight… I think that is SUCCESS!
8:31 Typing this and saying good night!
Can I find something to do to fill up my “empty” days? Well… I will try J
