A couple months ago Ninja and I got into a little bit of a tiff. It was 9 o’clock in the evening and he came into the bedroom and said what do you want do?” And I must have been in a great mood because I said “why don’t YOU pick out the show tonight” and I went into the bathroom.  As I peed… I brushed my teeth, I know gross but I’m a multitasker lol and I also did some editing on my shopping list at the same time. That’s what I was doing, 3 things so when I came out 5 minutes later already for bed and the TV still wasn’t on I was like HELLO?!?!?! and he said “I was just relaxing I was gonna pick it out in a few minutes.”

I’m sorry I do not compute.

And that’s when he laid it out for me and I’ve been thinking about it all this time. Just because I need to do 3 things at once to keep myself satisfied doesn’t mean everybody else is like that. Actually not many people are like that. I always think because I’ve just done 6 things that you’ve done 6 things but usually you’ve only done 2 things and this is not Ninja or YOU… I’m just talking people in general. The point is, is that it’s hard to be mad at people for moving at their own speed.

I can’t expect everybody to think and act like I do.

I can’t expect people to do things like me.

And realistically sometimes doing 3 things at once isn’t necessarily a good thing.

Take yesterday for example, I was making taco salad and I’m sautéing my ground beef and I hear the dryer buzzer go off so I go and take the load of out of the dryer before it gets wrinkly and at the same time I was emptying the coffee filter and thinking of the next thing that I could do. BAM I fumbled the coffee filter and all the grounds spilled on the floor. Sucky!

Or the other night I get up from bed where I am watching TV, writing my blog, listening to a show with 1 earphone, internet surfing and texting a friend. I fling the covers back and go to get up and my phone is down by my knees and I got all tangled up and when I try to get up my earphones got all tangled up too and pulled out of the computer. When I finally shook it all off and stepped onto the ground I stepped on the computer cord and tripped pulling my blanket and toppling the remotes off the bed!!!

Sometimes it might be better to slow it right down! lol

I know some people that can’t though…

There’s a lot of people in this world feel sorry for. But this week I am focusing on the unsung heroes that don’t get enough credit for what they do. That’s right I’m talking about… Working moms. Hell, Working dads too.

I know what I do in a day, I cannot imagine working all day and then coming home and cleaning and working all evening. And on top of all of the work that they do for that 8 hours a day that they’re not with their child they’re splitting their time trying to work their hardest while thinking about what their child is doing and how they’re doing. It’s like a total catch 22.

I was talking to my sister the other day and the problem that she is having is the almighty dinner. By the time her and my BIL get home they don’t want to be spending their time cooking a big dinner they would rather be spending the time with SweetPea. Totally understandable but the other catch is they like to be healthy. Both of them are working really hard to maintain their weights and they been working hard on Weight Watchers. So the other day my sister said you should do a week of 15 minute meals LOL.

I thought about it and I did some research and I have to say that’s like going to a dating service with your list of criteria. Hi I would like a healthy meal, that’s not too expensive, and that takes 15 minutes to prepare and cook.

No problem. Lol

Yes it is a problem actually! I have to say and please don’t get mad at me I have never been too concerned about calories, carbs or weight issues. I had no idea some of the things I have been eating, are like 14 points!! Alfredo?? Eeeekkkk. You know what I mean? Lol so as I began looking I realized that fast meals usually include fast food, food usually processed and almost every single one consists of some sort of noodles.  I looked up weight watchers to see if noodles were a good thing or bad thing? I know absolutely clueless. So, I’ve picked a few dishes for this week they go between 15 and 20 minutes I have a wide variety of different things so perhaps one of these recipes will peak her interest and hopefully she should be able to use them for her own family. I Would love to hear from anybody that does try them and how it goes for their family or too 🙂

But not today. Lol Our family does take out once a week. We have a lot of activities and usually on Thursdays with bowling, choir, school and Sparks we have about 45 minutes and my easy 15 minute meal is usually Carl’s Jr. Hahaha but today is a little bit different Ninja. my FIL and I are going to a hockey game tonight,

HBear and Dad are going to the Imagination Movers in Kelowna

and Grandma is coming over to play with SBean for the evening so we’re not doing dinner tonight. But tomorrow I will start my 15 to 20 minute meal ideas. Get ready 🙂

This weekend we did yard work 🙁 but we also did some playing!!!

And we did MORE GeoCaching! We are becoming pros lol not really. We have found 15 caches though!!! This weekend we went to Summerland to see what we could find 🙂

This weekend was the Young Guns Tournament here in Penticton. Where all of the NHL young talent comes to play! Ninja is VERY excited about this tourney!!!! He has gone to all the games and you can read all his reviews at his blog Oilers Twice Removed

Today we went to the park with our friends… seeing as how kids STILL aren’t in school!

I decided to use some plums today and make cakes 🙂 2 cakes = 8 plums!!! OMG I have so many plums. Everytime I go out I take a bag to someone lol

Oh well, it is really yummy and SBean LOVED helping me… win win right there 🙂

Add eggs one at a time, beat after each addition.

Sift together flour, salt, cream of tartar, and baking soda.

fill two greased and floured bread pans 1/2 full with batter, then add 1/4 of the fruit to each pan,

then the remaining batter and top with the remaining fruit.

Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Cool in the pan for about 15 minutes

and turn onto a platter.
