Now that the newness has worn off, HBear has been losing her glasses repeatedly. What do you do about that? How do you tell a six-year-old to be responsible for glasses?

We have told her there will be no dessert everytime I see her put them down somewhere. The other day I wen to put her case in her school bag and noticed they weren’t there. I had taken a picture of her earlier when I dropped her off at Broadway and she wasn’t wearing them so I knew they must have been left at school. I asked her and she went through her day…

“Well I put them in the yellow truck” what yellow truck? “you know the wagon of toys the kindergarten teacher brings out at recess? Yeah I put my glasses in the yellow truck to keep them safe while I went on the spinner.” 🙂

AHHHHHHHH

“But I picked them up and put them back on Mommy don’t freak out.”

AHHHHHHHH

“and then I took them off at lunch but I put them on the picnic table. When the bell rang I put them back on. Nope I din’t leave them at school.” She said proudly.

AHHHHHHHH

The next morning I talked to her teacher and she recalled her taking them off at the end of the day to play 7-Up.

We found them right on her desk.

Yesterday after searching the house for them all morning I finally found them in the front hall closet on the shelf behind a puzzle? WTF?

Chatting away with a friend while having music class out in the sun

So I went out and I bought her a chain. You know what I’m talking about, the chains that you hook onto your glasses that you can hang around your neck, Yep I bought that. And not just that but the gaudiest, blingiest, sparkliest, bright pink, “rhinestone” chain I have ever seen. HA HA… That will teach her!

She loved it.

Parenting FAIL!

And the other one, oh my goodness sakes. She has been having a problem eating her meals. So she refused breakfast again yesterday and then we went grocery shopping. When we got to the bakery area she says all innocently, “cookie?”

The mess that is free samples from Costco 🙂
I ask her “did you eat your breakfast?” She shakes her head no. I ask her “do you get snacks, treats, or dessert if you don’t eat your breakfast or dinner?” Again she shakes her head no but

it’s the eyes,

the eyes tell that all though she understands that she did something to result in the consequence of no cookie…

she blames it on me just the same. LOL

So we’re leaving the grocery store and I say “are you ready for gymnastics?” and she laughs a maniacal laugh and says “Uh Uh Mommy you got change my bum first!” I’m pretty sure if she’s old enough to tell me to change her ass she’s old enough to wipe it herself.

So when we got home I unload the groceries and I could hear her saying “Mommy change my bum!” and then I heard…

“I did it! I did it! Mommy I change my bummmmmmmmmmmmmmm!”

Hmmmmmm, I will walk into her bedroom and the little rat scaled the change table and is sitting on top waiting for me. Yep definitely time to use the gawddamn potty.

So dinner comes, and HBear eats up because she has to go to Jazz class. SBean not so much.

All day I had tried her on the potty but halfway through dinner (our dinner because she has not touched a bite of her shrimp stirfry) she looks at Daddy and says “I got to go pee!” and she goes on the potty!

She proudly marched back afterwards looked directly in my eyes and said with a smirk “I got a treat.”

OMG!

“Well that’s good that you got a treat because you were not getting dessert until your dinner is done!!”

At that point she huffed and got back up into her chair stuffed a huge mouthful in her mouth and sat and stared at me. 20 minutes after Ninja and HBear had left for class and Dad had finished tidying up the kitchen and had gone to the office I was still sitting at the table with SBean.

Ordering Popcorn on Popcorn Day 🙂
She was sitting there with a mouthful, not swallowing and just blinking at me so I yelled “that’s it you’re done!” I picked up the bowl and I walked into the kitchen and start scraping it out into the garbage.

Well, she opened her mouth and all the shrimp that of been sitting in her mouth spewed everywhere.

Warm mushy shrimp mouthful.

Then she got down from the chair super fast and chased after me screaming at the top of her lungs “NO!!!!! I EAT, I EAT… I WANT ‘ERT!!!!!!!!”

She began kicking the cabinet door of the garbage that I was scraping it into! I finished cleaning up her plate walked into the bathroom and she followed me snotting, crying and screaming all the way. I got her undressed quickly got into the shower and began singing “my Bonnie lies over the ocean” and she said “my Bonnie lies over the sea…”.

End of scene.

Today we went to the library. This is the Bean pulling her little suitcase full of books into the library to take them back.

This is the Bean an hour later when we had to return because my favorite friend at the library said Harry Potter 2 was overdue and wouldn’t let me take out any new books until I went home and got it, returned it and renewed it.

Piss me right off. Seriously? Just freaking renew it and I will pay whatever you want. But make me put all 37 books to the side, get SBean back into the van, go get the book, and wait in line AGAIN just to renew it?????

I also wanted to let you all know that I have 2 VERY special posts coming up!!!!

1. Ninja surprised me this past weekend and took me to Vancouver for a relaxing birthday weekend! It was AH-MAZING!!!! I can’t wait to share all the details and pictures 🙂

2. My Sis will be guest blogging here on HoneyBears & SydneyBeans!!!!!!

I hope to get both posts up soon but in the meantime keep an eye out for upcoming posts because these are gooders that you won’t want to miss 🙂

As I have a PAC meeting tonight we will be having leftovers 🙂 but a while back we had this easy and DELICIOUS chicken dish. Enjoy!

Honey Garlic Chicken
Adapted from Creole Contessa
4 chicken breast, boneless, skinless
1 cup flour
1 tablespoon seasoning
1/2 tablespoon black pepper
1/2 tablespoon garlic powder
1/2 tablespoon onion powder
1/2 tablespoon chili powder
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
3/4 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1/2 tablespoon sriracha
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon ginger powder

Rinse chicken pat dry, cut chicken into 2 inch chunks.

Place chicken in a large bowl, coat with all the spices, mix well and set aside.

Add about 3 tablespoons of oil to a skillet over medium heat.

Coat chicken in flour, shake off excess, place chicken in hot oil. Fry about 3 minutes per side in batches.

Drain chicken on paper napkin as you complete the frying process. Repeat until all chicken is complete.

Mix all the sauce ingredients together and set aside.

Once chicken is complete, add all the chicken back to the pan, you don’t have to drain the excess oil from the pan.

Pour sauce over chicken, bring mixture to boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 3 minutes.
