The year 2020… Brought to you by the letters W, T and F.

The Super Mom Life

This year was weird for blogging and podcasting. With the Pandemic came new schedules and less time to listen to podcasts, and not many Moms that were getting used to working from home while homeschooling had time to read many Mommy/food blogs 😆.

I had time though!

In 2019 I had trouble keeping up with the blog. With work, building the house and 3 PAC boards, I was exhausted and not feeling overly creative, especially in the kitchen. I couldn’t keep up with a weekly blog and frankly I didn’t have much to say.

In 2020 I was home from work from March until September. The house was finally finished, PAC meetings were online and there weren’t any fund-raising events or volunteering opportunities. Being home and being able to not only menu plan but plan dinners that I could take my time cooking and figure out, inspired me! Not to mention my new bright, open and spacious kitchen.

Quite a few posts/episodes resonated with you all and I would like to share them with you now! Numbers have never meant anything to me, quite honestly, I write this for myself as part diary part recipe book 😆 but it always amazes me how many people like reading my stories and trying out my recipes! I think my new phone camera and good lighting has helped a lot this year though 😁!

Thank you so much for reaching out when you feel the same way, when you laugh at one of my stories or understand my fears. Thank you for sharing postsand thank you for trying and sharing your thoughts on all the recipes. I appreciate it as your feedback helps me grow as a person, a home cook and as a blog writer!

Thank you 💛.

Ninja made me the BEST New Year’s Eve Cocktail! It was so good that I will definitely remember it for my next Zoom Party or better yet, when we finally get to go into the out with friends! We used blackberries but I bet this would be great with strawberries or raspberries or blueberries… well, I bet this would be great in any season with any fruit!

Berry Champagne Punch
Adapted from How Sweet Eats

1 bottle of chilled champagne
6 ounces Grand Marnier liqueur
6 ounces club soda
2 ounces brandy
10 ounces frozen berries
crushed ice for serving

Combine all ingredients together and stir gently. Serve in champagne glasses garnished with fresh berries if you want.

Check out How Was Your Week, Honey? Episode #205: Poppin’ Out Of Our Pants HERE!

This week we feel the “weight” of the holidays. Topics include: Lego, New Year’s, power out, 2020 reflections, words of the year, & perspective.

The last week of 2020 was a good one! We cuddled and watched Frosty, it snowed, Ninja shovelled and we painted. We had our new tea and we drank holiday coffees!

New Year’s Eve was awesome! We made a plethora of appetizers, Mom’s Taco Dip, Jello Shots and ate all evening! We had champagne and played charades over Google Hangout with my Sis, BIL, SPea and CPatch! It was so fun! My Sis thought of the great idea to do a Zoom Meeting dress up theme, Party on top and Comfy on the bottom 😂. It was so much fun! After they put the Girls down, we got our Girls set up with a movie and we hung out with just the adults! Fun way to end a very weird year! To end a crazy year but an amazing night, for the first time ever we celebrated the REAL midnight with HBear and SBean!

For the rest of our holidays we, worked on our highlights of the past year and our goals for the coming year, ate greasy hangover food, slept in, played LEGO, watched the Jrs. and did a FaceTime party with JQ to celebrate his 7th birthday!!!

On Monday it was back to school for the Girls! Off to kick some 2021 butt!

Happy New Year everyone!
